About Summer Panadd

Summer Panadda Tempaiboonkul is a Thai illustration artist and curator. She was born and raised by Teochew Min and Hakka families in Bangkok's multicultural community, where Muslim, Christian, and Sikh cultures coexist and thrive together. With a foundation in Thai studies, Summer's art often explores cultural diversity, cultural politics, history and memory, and folklore, bringing these themes to life through her creative lens.

Currently, as a research student in the International Master Program in Cultural and Creative Industries at the National Taipei University of the Arts, she investigates the nuanced relationships between humans, society, and environments. Her projects capture the memory of ordinary people, social movements, and contemporary issues, spanning from gender equality to indigenous cultural and community rights.

With her friendly and approachable drawing style, Summer Panadd aims to transform complex and challenging issues into something more digestible for the general public. Through her art, she bridges the gap between intricate subjects and everyday understanding, making contemporary issues such as human rights a little easier for everyone to navigate.
